Google Calendar Won't Sychronise With My HTC Phone

Discovered that I could have more than one calendar on my phone, which is great because I can have individual calendars for the likes of personal, work, uni, tafe etc. So I got on the PC and super quickly knocked up some new calendars, they all had pretty colour codes and descriptions... THEN I spent about 2 hours trying to get them to appear on my HTC phone. Eventually I gave up and went to bed.  Today I did some googling and found a very helpful forum called HTC Wildfire Forum . Obviously I have a Wildfire but I figured that this may be a resolution for other HTCs suffering the same issue.

Where to get great canvas art in Australia - print & oil

If you are looking for some striking print and/or oil canvas to decorate a room then check out HomePride . We got two really nice canvas prints from here when they had a stand at our local shopping centre. The size suited our living room and colours matched the furniture. The website shows everything that they stock and they have some stunning canvases - wish I had more walls so I could buy more! Would be fun to pick one or a set that you like and decorate a whole room to match.

Millie - Haircut

This is Millie getting a hair cut. She's not so keen at the time but when it's done I'm sure that she appreciates that she is now more aerodynamic and cooler ;)

Millie - Cloth Balloon Ball

This is Millie playing with the cloth ball that I made her. She loves it, Mum put a tab on the side Millie can pick it up and run off with it and so she can thrash it about. Just a small amount of rice inside the balloon to make a bit of racket, makes this one of Millie's favourite toys :) Click here to get the pattern and see how to make one for your beloved four legged friend....or small child :P

Millie - Shutting Doors

A new skill of Millie's. Still looks a bit worried about the doors slamming and making noise but nothing a little incentive (Schmackos) won't fix :P

Millie - Crawling

This is probably the cutest video of Millie yet! Watch her scoot around the living room floor on her belly in time with the hilarious tune that Carmen picked. I love Millie, she's so funny!

Millie - Bag of Tricks

My sister has been making these cute videos of our dog Millie. Some of them are of her new tricks and some are old tricks, some videos are just of Millie being silly or going mental. Enjoy :)

Egg Timer Free: App Review

My sister Tina put me onto this app called Egg Timer Free . It takes a few goes to get used to it but once you do you will have perfect eggs every time! Literally just finished cooking breakfast having used this app and I'm really excited that I can now get soft boiled eggs ever time. Brings back memories as a kid, dipping the toast soldiers into the runny yolk.... :) And then toast soldiers remind me of having breakfast with my Nanna :D   Anyway, a really good app, just need to note that the water needs to be boiling from the get go (worked this out from a few tests) and when the timer goes off and it says to get it out trust it, it knows what it is doin g . The cooking setting s take into ac count egg s ize, egg temperature, altitude, and what sort of boil you want. And you can pick from :   - white begins to set, yolk liquid - white partly set, yol k begins to set - white larg ely set , yol k soft solid - white tender solid, yolk wa x y - white firm, yolk firm

Chicken Chow Mein

Got this recipe from a new blog that I have been following called "Good Food, Shared" by Lisa Duffy in Ireland. Some great look food on her blog and I saw this go up today and decided this would be my dinner :) Mine didn't look as pretty but I had less chicken and kept the same amount of soy so it's quite dark. What I really enjoyed about this was that it had lots of veg (my favourite ones) with a lesser amount of meat and noodle. After having a few crazy days with work I've been missing out on delicious, full meals. The ingredients I used : 1 chicken breast, 1/2 zucchini, 3/4 capsicum, hand full of snow peas, 4 stems of baby corn, 2 packets of instant noodles (Mi Goreng without the flavours - might include the flavours next time and see what that does), bit of oil, 2/3 tablespoon dark soy, heaped teaspoon corn flour, 1/2 tablespoon Chinese five spice (will use less for this amount of chicken next time). Cut chicken in to small chunks or thin slices ,

MT Beer Review

Travelled to Mt Tamborine to celebrate a special occasion and during our travels we visited the MT Brewery and samples their unique selection of beers. As you will see from the reviews below the beers are not like your normal Aussie beers that are on tap. You will also notice that Bede is a man of adventure when it comes to beer and I am a more... simple. Glad we samples and didn't just get take-aways - I would have straight way gone for a six pack of the larger when in fact I preferred the ale, which is very unusual. Beyond the beers, the pub had a great atmosphere, the staff were proficient and friendly AND you can see into the brewing room.     Moderation Golden Ale - 3/5 stars (Bede & Cass) - Fruity aroma, super smooth, mango/tropical flavours. Rainforest Larger - 2.5/5 stars (Bede & Cass) - smells like a dirty larger, clear and very pale, subtly sweet, rather hoppy. Black Cockatoo Dark Larger - 2.5/5 stars (Bede), 0/5 stars (Cass) - Very smok

Rice, Leek and prosciutto Frittata

Got this recipe from the March edition of Super Food Ideas magazine (thanks Sue). Literally just finished eating this for dinner and it is great. Loving leeks so this is really good. It's healthy and tasty! 4.5/5 stars! Serves 4, Time 45 mins (unless you are a ninja like me) Ingredients: - 1/3 cup of rice - 1 tbs olive oil - 1 large leek, halved and sliced thinly - 6 slices prosciutto, chopped - 8 eggs (I only had 7 and it turned out perfect) - 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese - 100g mixed salad leaves (I just used normal lettuce) 1. Cook rice like you normally would 2. Heat oven to 180 degrees fan forced 3. Grease and line a 20cm square baking dish with baking paper 4. Fry leeks and prosciutto in oil (in a pan) until leeks become soft 5. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl, lightly beat them, add leek mixture, cooked rice and 1/2 of the cheese. 6. Mix it up and pour into the prepared baking dish to cook in the oven for 20-25 minutes (25mins came out perfect fo

Review: Vanish Preen Powerpowder Carpet cleaner

Straight up, this product was useless. For starters the bottle is huge (and I know you need a bit of room for shaking it but not this much) but only has 510g of product in it. This is enough to "clean" 3m ² of carpet only. And at $14 dollar a bottle that makes for a very expensive clean - making it cheaper to get professionals in!  We following the instructions which are quite straight forward, vacuum carpet first, then generously shake the powder over small sections at a time and work in the powder using a brush or broom. Wait 20 minutes and them vacuum really well. The only thing we have achieved is having a section of the carpet that smells like cleaning product. It doesn't look or feel any cleaner at all and is certainly not "a deep clean" as the product claimed it would do. We won't ever buy again and probably wouldn't try any of their other carpet products. We are just going to buy a carpet shampoo (from a commercial cleaning shop) and use o

How to care for a bunch of flowers

My husband got me a lovely bunch of flowers for our first wedding anniversary and I wanted to share with everyone how to care for them. They only have a short but beautiful life so lets make sure we get the most out of them. Most florist will attach a little sachet of flower food (maybe stuck inside the wrapping). Mix this with how ever much water you need in your vase. Trim the base of the stem - about 2-3cm up. Make sure to cut them all on an angle (like in the picture) as this increases the surface area that absorbs water and can suck up the flower food - trust me, it's good for your flowers. Pull of all of the leaves that fall below the water line. Otherwise the go brown and yucky. Ta-da! Too lazy to clear the table for a nicer shot but you get the idea. Nice and fresh looking! Goes well with my watermelon table cloth from Spotlight too!

The makings if a survival kit for Australia

Decided we needed a survival kit each for camping so we have been doing some Internet shopping and this is what we have come up with. Have about 95% of what we need plus some extra things for camping. Very excited, now we just need to cut down to the essencials and get a good container or tin to complete it. Will blog the final equipment list for the survival kit and explain the selections and how it is important to designed kits based on destination.

SOL - Slim Rescue Howler

Received my twin pack of SOL Slim Rescue Howlers today and yes I've been testing them in the apartment - final report = loud :P We ordered them 20/01/2013 from TroyCo Outdoor Adventure Gear (American company on Ebay) and got them in the post today. Comes in the original packaging and was posted in a protective postage thingo. So 5 stars rating for TroyCo. Now to the whistle....dimensions are 58mm x 23mm x 8mm and is fluro orange (an emergency colour). The design eliminates the need for a pea (little flicky ball in traditional whistles) and claims to deliver a 100dB blast that can be heard over 1.6km away (equivalent to the level of noise made by a drop saw - I'd say that's pretty loud). It also has an attachment point so you could clip it to a zipper or throw some paracord through it an make a lanyard. Got these whistle (one each) because we want to get into some more recreational hiking shortly, so we have been putting together a couple of survival kits before we
