Photo Grid - App

I've had this app for a while now and I'm really enjoying the fun things I can make with it. Here is how to find it  Photo Grid  and below are some examples of the stuff (some (most) made purely for fun) that I've created using it. Five stars for this app!

Egg Timer Free: App Review

My sister Tina put me onto this app called Egg Timer Free . It takes a few goes to get used to it but once you do you will have perfect eggs every time! Literally just finished cooking breakfast having used this app and I'm really excited that I can now get soft boiled eggs ever time. Brings back memories as a kid, dipping the toast soldiers into the runny yolk.... :) And then toast soldiers remind me of having breakfast with my Nanna :D   Anyway, a really good app, just need to note that the water needs to be boiling from the get go (worked this out from a few tests) and when the timer goes off and it says to get it out trust it, it knows what it is doin g . The cooking setting s take into ac count egg s ize, egg temperature, altitude, and what sort of boil you want. And you can pick from :   - white begins to set, yolk liquid - white partly set, yol k begins to set - white larg ely set , yol k soft solid - white tender solid, yolk wa x y - white firm, yolk ...

Smart Ruler Pro - Home Improvement Applications

I have previously recommended this Android app and the main purpose I used it for was to measure roof angles as part of a risk assessment for work. Today I've applied the same application to re-hanging our certificates in the office. We moved to furniture and not the frames - it has looked stupid for ages and I finally got pro active about it today.  The tools I used: hammer, tape measure, pencil, short off cut of timber (don't have a straight edge), Smart Ruler Pro App (I don't have a spirit level) and my hands :) Using the measuring tape I marked the centre of the wall and select the height that you want the nails to go into the wall (I used the per-existing height of the certificates). Using the timber, line it up with the centre nail and decide how far apart you want the frames. Now place your phone with the Smart Ruler Pro app on top of the timber (careful not to drop it...I did twice) and mark with a pencil. Tap the nail in the locations where ...

Smart Ruler Pro - App

Haha, I've just about recommended all of the apps I've currently got on the phone! They are really good though. This one might be good for the handyman or tradie. This app includes rulers, level, protractor and a few other gizmos. But what I really wanted this for was the protractor overplayed on a camera, to use in risk assessments for height safety. Yet to officially put it to the test but looking forward to it. See my post on how to use the Smart Ruler Pro app to hang picture frames

Assignment Planner - App

The Assignment Planner app is a great little tool for monitoring high school and university assignments and grades. A new feature is multi-sized widgets, which is handy for those of us who have heaps of assignments :)

Moving Planner - App

The  Moving Planner app is yet another fantastic app that I have come across. It can be used for all sorts of lists; shopping, holiday packing, camping, cleaning lists, moving, bucket list, party planning, wedding planning....the list goes on :P

Jewels Star - Recommended Game App

I have been playing Jewels Star for a couple of weeks now and Bede and I are addicted! It's fun, we take turns doing a few levels when we are board or in between pomodoros as a treat. The game is pretty simple, just involves lining up a few gems and with a bit of speed and a quick, strategic eye you can swing a high score. It's FREE and carries a 4.7/5 rating in Google Play Store. Check it out here ! The only reason I'm blogging about it and not playing is because I played it so long the phone is completely flat :(  HAPPY PLAYING!

Food Planner App

Massive thank you to the developers of the FOOD PLANNER app. I've used it for over 6 months now and it is fantastic! It stores my recipes which I can use to plan meals for the week and then it automatically create a grocery list! Even better than that the groceries are ordered by the isles of my regular super market which makes a shop take half the time because I only go to the isle where I need something AND it also means less impulse shopping (which I'm very bad for). Takes a little bit of time to set it all up but once it is up and going it is fantastic!!! Check it out here ! It's even been rated 4.8/5 which has got to be a good sign. P.S. Even though it's only a couple of dollars you can try before you buy with the free version. But if you like it please support the developer by buying the pro version (I'm doing that right now!)

Pomodroido - App for Students

Bede found this application for the android and I use it all the time for uni. It's a great little study tool! You can set the duration of your study time and break times and how many you need to complete to be rewarded with a longer break. It also gives you a rank which is based on the number of study sessions you have done that can be a little bit of an incentive. If you have a good study system this may also be useful for completing assignments. I'm using it at the moment, as soon as I get home from work I start the timer. I use the breaks to get a cup of tea/snack or get up for a quick walk and they reward after 4 x 25 minute study sessions is usually an episode of my favourite tv show Rescue Special Ops :P Oh, and its FREE !!! So download it now and STUDY STUDY STUDY! *Carmen you should get this!
